Job summary

Cresta, a leading AI-powered contact center software, is seeking an AI Agent Engineer in Australia. You will develop and deploy intelligent AI agents, integrate them with customer systems, and help customers realize ROI from AI deployments.

The role requires deep software/ML experience, collaboration with PMs and engineers, and a hands-on approach to optimize performance, security, and scalability in enterprise environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in CS or related field.
• 3+ years in software/AI engineering or consulting.
• Proficiency in Python and Golang.
• Familiarity with AI/ML concepts, LLMs, and prompt engineering.
• Understanding of AI agent frameworks, function calling, and RAG.
• Cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and DevOps (CI/CD, containerization).
• Experience integrating systems via APIs, webhooks, and data pipelines.
• Excellent communication and project management skills.
• Data-driven decision-making with A/B testing and monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Develop, deploy, and optimize AI agents on Cresta’s platform.
• Integrate AI agents with external systems via APIs and data pipelines.
• Tune prompts/configs to improve performance and troubleshoot issues.
• Gather requirements from customers and translate into AI agent solutions.
• Conduct demos and proofs-of-concepts for prospective customers; iterate based on feedback.
• Define milestones, create implementation plans, and coordinate with internal teams for on-time delivery.
• Collaborate with PMs to align agent goals with product roadmap; influence capabilities.
