Job summary

Cresta, a leading AI-powered platform for contact centers, seeks an AI Agent Engineer in Australia to deploy advanced AI agents and integrate them with customer systems.

You will work with customers and engineers to deliver high-impact deployments, tune performance, and ensure security and reliability of the AI platform. Strong Python/Golang skills, cloud experience, and a data-driven mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of full-time working experience in software development/Consulting, AI/ML engineering, or Forward Deployed Engineering.
• Proficiency in Python and Golang, with the ability to write clean, efficient code.
• Hands-on experience with large language models (LLMs), and prompt engineering techniques are strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of AI agent frameworks, function calling, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and DevOps practices (CI/CD, containerization, monitoring).
• Hands-on experience with integrating systems via APIs, webhooks, and data pipelines.
• Excellent communication and project management skills.
• Analytical, data-driven decision making to refine solutions.
• Collaborative builder, cross-functional teamwork with PMs and engineers to solve real customer problems.

Responsibilities

• Develop, configure, deploy, and optimize AI agents using Cresta’s platform and tools.
• Build AI agent integrations with external systems (APIs, databases, CRMs) for seamless workflows.
• Tune AI agent performance and troubleshoot issues in complex environments.
• Gather technical requirements with customers and translate them into AI solutions.
• Conduct interactive demos and proof-of-concepts for prospective customers.
• Define milestones, create plans, and coordinate delivery with internal teams.
• Collaborate with PMs to define agent goals and shape product capabilities.
• Provide technical guidance on AI agent architecture, security, and scalability.
