Job summary

The Aboriginal Advanced Case Manager will be responsible for managing a caseload of Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal persons to deliver evidence-based best practice in case management of individuals with complex needs and those who have committed serious offences.

This role may involve assisting in assessing client suitability for corrections orders and providing advice to the Koori Court. Strong emphasis on culturally informed interventions and collaboration with Aboriginal organisations.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to communicate sensitively with the Victorian Aboriginal Community.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the Victorian Aboriginal Community and related issues.
• Experience with best practice case management frameworks.
• Ability to apply theoretical concepts to reduce risk and maximise outcomes; seeks continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of predominantly high-risk individuals with culturally informed intervention to address offending behaviours and engage with community services.
• Develop and implement culturally informed intervention plans for Aboriginal persons to support engagement, reduce recidivism and promote outcomes.
• Provide individualised risk assessment advice to senior management and teams on case management of Aboriginal persons.
• Develop relationships with Aboriginal organisations and other bodies to strengthen case management.
