Job summary

The Aboriginal Advanced Case Manager at the Department of Justice and Community Safety VIC, Melbourne Reservoir area, will manage a caseload of high‑risk individuals and deliver culturally informed case management to support community safety and reduce reoffending.

You will develop intervention plans for Aboriginal persons, assess suitability for corrections orders, and advise on Koori Court processes, working with senior management and community teams.

• Experience with best practice case management frameworks.
• Ability to implement theoretical concepts to reduce risk and maximise outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of predominantly high-risk individuals and provide culturally informed case management intervention to address offending behaviours, support engagement with community services, and promote completion of Community Correction Orders.
• Develop and implement culturally informed case management intervention plans for Aboriginal persons to support engagement, reduce recidivism, promote meaningful outcomes, and mitigate risk to community.
• Identify and evaluate factors that relate to individual offending behaviour and provide individualised risk assessment advice to senior management and community-based teams on effective case management of Aboriginal persons.
• Develop relationships with Aboriginal organisations and other organisations that support and strengthen the case management of Aboriginal persons.
