Job summary

Coniston Hotel in Cairns City is seeking a highly skilled Qualified Chef to join our busy venue. You will prepare and cook a variety of dishes using modern Australian cuisine, maintain high standards, and train junior kitchen staff.

We offer a competitive salary of AUD 79,500 per year, sponsorship available to the right candidate, and opportunities for career advancement within our growing hotel. Our team works in a fast-paced, collaborative kitchen with emphasis on health and safety and stock

Qualifications

Qualification in Commercial Cookery or equivalent.
Proven experience as a cook in a busy restaurant or catering environment.
Strong knowledge of cooking methods, kitchen equipment and food safety regulations.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple orders.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook meals in accordance with established recipes and presentation standards.
Monitor food stock levels and order supplies as necessary.
Assist in the development of new menu items.
Maintain a clean and organized kitchen station.
Ensure all food is prepared to the highest standards of quality and freshness.
Adhere to all health and safety regulations.
Train and supervise junior kitchen staff as required.
