Coniston Hotel in Cairns City is seeking a highly skilled Qualified Chef to join our busy venue. You will prepare and cook a variety of dishes using modern Australian cuisine, maintain high standards, and train junior kitchen staff.

We offer a competitive salary of AUD 79,500 per year, sponsorship available to the right candidate, and opportunities for career advancement within our growing hotel. Our team works in a fast-paced, collaborative kitchen with emphasis on health and safety and stock

Qualifications

• Qualification in Commercial Cookery or equivalent.
• Proven experience as a cook in a busy restaurant or catering environment.
• Strong knowledge of cooking methods, kitchen equipment and food safety regulations.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple orders.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals in accordance with established recipes and presentation standards.
• Monitor food stock levels and order supplies as necessary.
• Assist in the development of new menu items.
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen station.
• Ensure all food is prepared to the highest standards of quality and freshness.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations.
• Train and supervise junior kitchen staff as required.

You will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes using your knowledge and expertise in modern Australian cuisine. Responsibilities:
