Job summary

Team Global Express is seeking a Freight Allocator / Same Day Consultant to join our Melbourne Airport team in a permanent full-time role. You will coordinate urgent freight movements across Same Day and Premium Services, working with customers, drivers, subcontractors and internal teams to ensure on-time delivery with exceptional service.

Qualifications

• Experience in transport, logistics, courier, freight forwarding or fast-paced operations (preferred).
• Experience coordinating deliveries, dispatching, scheduling or allocating work is highly regarded.
• Strong customer service and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent communication with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making under pressure.
• High attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a time-sensitive environment.
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office and operational systems.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Same Day and Premium Services freight movements from booking through to delivery.
• Allocate and coordinate jobs with drivers, subcontractors and service providers.
• Monitor freight movements and manage delivery performance throughout the day.
• Track consignments and ensure service commitments are achieved.
• Communicate with customers, drivers and teams to provide timely updates.
• Manage disruptions, delays and service issues with effective solutions.
• Prepare quotes and process bookings accurately and efficiently.
• Respond to customer enquiries via phone and email professionally and promptly.
• Handle inbound customer enquiries through dedicated phone queues and ensure resolution.
• Conduct outbound calls to customers, drivers and internal stakeholders to coordinate movements.
• Manage emails and service requests in Salesforce, ensuring cases are actioned and resolved on time.
• Ensure Proof of Delivery and documentation is completed accurately.
• Collaborate with branches, account managers and operations to deliver outcomes.
• Maintain records within internal systems and platforms.
• Follow procedures and promote safety and compliance.
