Job summary

Global Express is seeking a Freight Coordinator / Same Day Consultant to join our Melbourne Airport team in a permanent full-time role. This fast-paced position coordinates urgent freight movements across Same Day and Premium Services, engaging customers, drivers, subcontractors and internal teams to ensure on-time delivery and excellent service.

Responsibilities include booking to delivery, tracking consignments, handling inquiries via phone and email, and using Salesforce for case management.

Qualifications

• Experience in transport, logistics, courier, or fast-paced operations.
• Experience coordinating deliveries, dispatch or scheduling.
• Strong customer service and stakeholder management.
• Excellent communication across all levels.
• Strong problem-solving under pressure.
• High attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and operational systems.
• Proactive, team-oriented with a service focus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Same Day and Premium Services freight movements from booking through to delivery.
• Allocate and coordinate jobs with drivers, subcontractors and service providers.
• Monitor freight movements and manage delivery performance throughout the day.
• Track consignments and ensure service commitments are achieved.
• Communicate with customers, drivers and teams to provide updates.
• Handle disruptions and issues with effective solutions.
• Prepare customer quotes and process bookings accurately.
• Respond to customer enquiries via phone and email.
• Manage inbound customer enquiries and phone queues with prompt resolutions.
• Conduct outbound calls to coordinate movements and updates.
• Manage emails in Salesforce and ensure cases are resolved.
