Job summary

Tyro is seeking a Sales Engineer to support enterprise merchants and partners in turning opportunities into live integrations. You will own the technical workstream from integration design to go-live, collaborating with customer engineering teams to deliver secure, scalable solutions.

Your focus is on removing technical friction, enabling fast onboarding and ensuring a smooth first transaction while aligning with product and engineering to improve the developer experience.

Qualifications

• Strong experience across APIs, backend systems and integration patterns.
• Experience delivering customer or partner integrations and technical onboarding.
• Ability to read code and troubleshoot technical issues.
• Delivery ownership, proactive blockers and momentum maintenance.
• Comfortable explaining technical concepts to customer engineering teams.
• Experience balancing speed, quality and commercial outcomes.
• Payments experience in online, in-store or API-based contexts preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical workstream for enterprise merchant and partner integrations from design through go-live.
• Design practical, scalable and secure integration approaches that work with the Tyro platform.
• Drive towards a fast first successful transaction, removing blockers.
• Troubleshoot payment flows, APIs, auth, webhooks, reconciliation and non-standard implementations.
• Manage technical milestones, dependencies and risks with Onboarding & Implementation through go-live.
• Build reusable guides and reference implementations; feed API/tooling gaps back to Product.
• Provide technical expertise on late-stage opportunities and RFPs where integration matters.
