Job summary

Checkout.com is seeking a founding Solutions Engineer in Sydney to guide clients through integration of our payments platform. You will provide technical leadership across the sales lifecycle, mapping merchant needs to APIs, running demos, and driving solution design to win deals.

The ideal candidate brings 3–5 years in sales engineering or related roles, with strong communication to both technical and business stakeholders, and a track record of delivering customer-focused technical solutions

Qualifications

Minimum 3–5 years experience in a Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect, Pre-Sales Consultant, Implementation Engineer, or TAM role.
Experience in a technical client-facing role is required.
Ability to translate technical jargon into layman terms for business stakeholders.
Strong problem-solving and documentation skills with logs, API responses and tests.

Responsibilities

Run product demos and build show-me payment flows for prospects.
Lead technical interactions with merchants from chats to workshops until deals close.
Create solution designs mapping merchant requirements to APIs and Checkout.com products.
Support BID responses and RFP/RFI processes with technical input.
Champion product capabilities and gather market feedback for roadmap input.
