Job summary

Sharp & Carter is partnering with a leading HR technology and SaaS business to appoint a Business Development Manager who will lead an established team of 7-8 BDMs across Australia. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on developing sales capability, lifting performance and helping experienced salespeople maximise their potential.

The role offers a base salary of AU$100,000–AU$130,000 plus super, with an additional incentive structure and clear pathways for long-term career progression

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and develop a team of 7-8 Business Development Managers.
• Deliver ongoing coaching and performance development.
• Improve individual and team sales performance.
• Coach across: objection handling, negotiation, closing techniques, prospecting strategies, pipeline management, consultative selling.
• Set clear expectations and drive accountability.
• Conduct regular one-on-one coaching and development sessions.
• Support the team through complex sales opportunities.
• Foster a high-performance sales culture.
• Lead from the front with strong sales behaviours and commercial acumen.
• Remain close to customers, deals and market activity.
• Potentially maintain personal sales responsibilities alongside team leadership.
