Job summary

Australia Post is seeking a Retail Customer Service Officer to help Australians and local businesses stay connected. You’ll handle customer sales, cash handling, and identity services, with on-the-job training and clear career development. The role is permanent part-time, 20 hours per week, with 1.15pm–5.15pm shifts, across weekdays. Pay rate starts at $29.72/hour and rises to $31.77/hour after three months, plus 12% Superannuation.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service and/or cash handling.
• Ability to build rapport and assist customers.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Performing customer sales and service transactions with customers.
• Managing high value transactions accurately (cash, cheques, credit cards, EFTPOS).
• Conducting identity services transactions, including Australian Passport Interviews.
• Promoting products and services through up-selling and cross-selling, merchandising and promotions.
• Assisting customers with mail and parcels lodgements and related costs.
• Build rewarding relationships by understanding customer needs.
• Assist with administrative duties such as stocktaking and record maintenance.
