Job summary

Australia Post is seeking a Retail Customer Service Officer (Relief) to assist customers at our offices, handling sales, identity services and parcel duties while promoting products and delivering excellent service to local communities.

The role includes 12 weeks of paid training (Mon-Fri, 25 hours/week) and a permanent part-time schedule (20 hours/week). Pay starts at $29.72/hour, increasing to $31.77/hour after about 3 months, plus 12% superannuation.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service and/or cash handling.
• Able to lift up to 16 kg and stand for shifts.

Responsibilities

• Performing customer sales and service transactions with customers.
• Managing high value transactions accurately (cash, cheques, credit cards, EFTPOS).
• Conducting identity services transactions, including Australian Passport Interviews.
• Promoting products and services through up-selling and cross-selling, merchandising and promotional activities.
• Assisting customers with mail and parcels lodgements and associated costs.
• Building relationships by understanding customer needs.
• Assisting with stocktaking and record maintenance.
