Job summary

Rydges World Square invites a friendly Reservations Agent to join our Sydney team. You will handle bookings by phone, email and online chat, helping guests choose rooms, rates and packages while growing direct bookings and revenue.

You’ll be a confident communicator who thrives in a fast-paced environment, delivering excellent guest service and supporting seamless check-in/check-out processes.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service within a hotel or resort preferred.
• Excellent communication and a friendly, professional demeanor.
• Ability to juggle multiple bookings and guest inquiries efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Handle bookings via phone, email and online chat to convert inquiries into confirmed reservations.
• Promote hotel services, offers and upgrades to increase direct bookings.
• Log guest feedback and manage profiles to improve guest experience and reporting.
• Coordinate with hotel teams to ensure smooth check-in/check-out and guest satisfaction.
• Support team with additional duties to maintain smooth operations.

About the Role

Be the first voice of Rydges and turn every enquiry into a memorable guest experience. As a Reservations Agent, you’ll handle bookings by phone, email and online chat, helping guests find the perfect room, rate and package while growing direct bookings and revenue. Key Accountabilities

• Accurately handle bookings, waitlists, cancellations, and special requirements using PMS (Opera) and related systems.
• Act as a trusted contact for guests, addressing inquiries, preferences, and concerns while ensuring seamless check-in/check-out processes.
• Promote hotel services, offers, and upgrades to enhance guest stays.
• Log guest complaints, update profiles, and elevate issues to management promptly.
• Maintain and merge guest/company profiles for accurate reporting and recognition.
• Collaborate effectively with hotel teams to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction.
• Assist colleagues with additional duties as required to support overall team performance.

Skills & Experience

• Similar experience in a customer service role, ideally within a hotel or resort, with a natural ability to make guests feel welcome and cared for.
• Confident communicator who’s approachable and ready to handle both compliments and concerns with ease.
• Fluent in English, with extra language skills a bonus.
• Organised and able to juggle priorities, meet deadlines, and keep things running smoothly—even when it’s busy.
• Tech-savvy, with experience using the Opera system is idea, with a strong understanding of other computer systems.
• Creative problem-solver who turns challenges into opportunities for memorable guest experiences.
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment, maintains a polished appearance, and takes pride in personal grooming and uniform standards.
• Flexible and willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
