Job summary

EVT is seeking a Reservations Agent for Rydges World Square in Sydney. You will manage bookings via phone, email, and chat, helping guests choose rooms, rates, and packages while growing direct bookings.

The role requires a friendly, motivated communicator with hospitality experience who thrives in a busy setting and can adapt to shift work, including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Similar experience in a customer service role, ideally within a hotel or resort.
• Confident communicator who’s approachable and ready to handle inquiries with ease.
• Fluent in English; extra language skills are a bonus.
• Organised and able to juggle priorities, meet deadlines, and stay calm in busy periods.
• Tech-savvy with Opera system experience and a wider IT aptitude.
• Creative problem-solver who turns challenges into guest‑centric solutions.
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment and maintains a polished appearance and uniform standards.
• Willing to work nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Accurately handle bookings, waitlists, cancellations, and special requirements using PMS (Opera) and related systems.
• Act as a trusted contact for guests, addressing inquiries, preferences, and concerns while ensuring smooth check-in/out.
• Promote hotel services, offers and upgrades to enhance guest stays.
• Log guest complaints, update profiles, and escalate issues to management promptly.
• Maintain and merge guest/company profiles for accurate reporting and recognition.
• Collaborate with hotel teams to ensure seamless operations and guest satisfaction.
• Assist colleagues with additional duties as required to support team performance.

About the Role

Be the first voice of Rydges and turn every enquiry into a memorable guest experience. As a Reservations Agent, you’ll handle bookings by phone, email and online chat, helping guests find the perfect room, rate and package while growing direct bookings and revenue.
