Job summary

HumanAbility is seeking a skilled Communications Coordinator to support the creation and delivery of communications about our work. You will collaborate with the Senior Communications Advisor to plan, draft and deliver clear communications across our projects, websites, newsletters and social channels.

The role involves internal and external communications, liaising with contractors such as designers and videographers, and contributing to accessible, audience-focused content.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in communications, journalism or similar or demonstrated equivalent experience.
• Experience in a Communications team, preferably in not-for-profit or government sector.
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organisational and project management skills.
• Proficiency with content management systems and social media platforms; experience with Monday.com (or similar).
• Ability to collaborate across teams and manage multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Identify, plan and create content for HumanAbility’s communications channels, including social, digital and newsletters.
• Translate complex policy and workforce content into plain English for target audiences.
• Draft clear, accurate and consistent communication materials.
• Ensure content is accessible for diverse audiences including stakeholders and the public.
• Work with other teams to align communications across sectors.
• Assist in developing multimedia content such as videos and graphics.
• Follow work health, safety and wellbeing policies and guidelines.
