Job summary

HumanAbility is seeking a Communications Coordinator to support the creation and delivery of communications about our work. The role will plan, draft and create clear, concise communications across internal and external channels including our website, newsletters, events and social media.

You'll work with the Senior Communications Advisor and other team members, liaising with contractors such as designers and videographers.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in communications, journalism or similar or demonstrated equivalent experience.
• Experience working in a Communications team, preferably within a not-for-profit or government sector.
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organisational and project management skills.
• Demonstrated proficiency in content management systems, social media platforms and Monday.com (or similar).
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Identify, plan and create content for communications channels, including social, digital and newsletters.
• Translate complex content into plain English for the target audience.
• Draft communication materials with clarity, accuracy and consistency.
• Ensure content is accessible for diverse audiences including stakeholders and the public.
• Work with other teams to align communications across sectors.
• Assist in development of multimedia content, including videos and graphics.
• Observe work health, safety and wellbeing policies.
