Job summary

HumanAbility is seeking a skilled Communications Coordinator to support creation and delivery of communications about our work, across internal and external channels including our website, newsletters, events and social media.

You will work with the Senior Communications Advisor to plan, draft and deliver clear communications about projects, translating technical content into plain English and coordinating with contractors as needed.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in communications, journalism or similar or demonstrated equivalent experience.
• Experience in a not-for-profit or government communications team.
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organisational and project management skills.
• Demonstrated proficiency in content management systems, social media platforms and Monday.com (or similar).
• Ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Identify, plan and create content for HumanAbility’s communications channels, including social, digital and newsletters.
• Translate complex policy content into plain English for diverse audiences.
• Draft clear, accurate and consistent communications materials.
• Ensure content is accessible to diverse audiences, including stakeholders and the public.
• Collaborate with teams to align communications across sectors.
• Assist in developing multimedia content like videos and graphics.
