Job summary

HumanAbility seeks a Communications Coordinator to plan, draft and deliver communications about our work. You will manage internal and external channels, including the website, newsletters, events and social media.

You will collaborate with the Senior Communications Advisor and contractors to produce clear, concise content for diverse audiences and ensure consistency across campaigns. A flexible, national role with travel may be involved.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in communications, journalism or similar or demonstrated equivalent experience.
• Experience working in a Communications team, preferably within not-for-profit/government sectors.
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organisational and project management skills.
• Proficiency with content management systems and social media platforms.
• Ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Identify, plan and create content for HumanAbility’s communications channels, including social, digital and newsletters.
• Translate complex topics into plain English for diverse audiences.
• Draft communication materials with clarity and consistency.
• Ensure content is accessible and appropriate for varied audiences.
• Collaborate with other teams to align communications across sectors.
• Assist in developing multimedia content with contractors as needed.
• Adhere to work health, safety and wellbeing policies.
