Job summary

HumanAbility is seeking a Communications Coordinator to support the creation and delivery of communications about our work. You will plan, draft and create clear, concise and compelling communications about projects, and manage internal and external channels including our website, newsletters, events and social media.

You’ll collaborate with the Senior Communications Advisor and team, liaising with contractors such as graphic designers and videographers, and supporting a hybrid working model

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in communications, journalism or similar or demonstrated equivalent experience.
• Experience working in a Communications team, preferably in not-for-profit or government sector.
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organisational and project management skills.
• Proficiency with content management systems and social media platforms; familiarity with Monday.com (or similar).
• Ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Identify, plan and create content for communications channels including social, digital and newsletters.
• Translate complex policy and workforce content into plain English for target audiences.
• Draft communication materials with clarity, accuracy and consistency.
• Ensure content is accessible for diverse audiences including stakeholders and the public.
• Work with other teams to align communications across sectors.
• Assist in development or commissioning of multimedia content such as videos and graphics.
• Observe and follow WH&S policies and guidelines.
