Job summary

HumanAbility is seeking a Communications Coordinator to support the planning, drafting and delivery of clear communications about our work. You will manage content across our website, newsletters, events and social channels while liaising with contractors as needed.

The role is full-time with a remote-friendly, hybrid model and some travel. You will work with the Senior Communications Advisor and broader team to ensure accessible, accurate and engaging communications for diverse stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in communications, journalism or similar or demonstrated equivalent experience
• Experience working in a Communications team, preferably within a not-for-profit or government sector
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organisational and project management skills
• Demonstrated proficiency in content management systems, social media platforms and Monday.com (or similar)
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Identify, plan and create content for HumanAbility’s communications channels, including social, digital and newsletters
• Translate complex technical, policy and workforce content into plain English that suits the target audience
• Draft communication materials with clarity, accuracy, and consistency
• Ensure all content is accessible and appropriate for diverse audiences, including industry stakeholders and the public
• Work closely with other teams as directed to align communications across our sectors
• Assist in the development or commissioning of multimedia content, including videos and graphics, as required
• Observe and follow work health, safety and wellbeing policies and guidelines
