Job summary

HumanAbility is seeking a proactive Communications Coordinator to craft and deliver clear communications about our projects and work. You will collaborate with the Senior Communications Advisor and the team to plan, draft and refine messages across our internal and external channels.

You will manage content for our website, newsletters, events, and social media, while coordinating with contractors such as designers and videographers. This role may require travel and remote work across Australia.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in communications, journalism or related field.
• Experience in a Communications team, preferably not-for-profit or government.
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organisational and project management skills.
• Proficient with CMS, social media platforms and Monday.com.

Responsibilities

• Identify, plan and create content for communications channels (social, digital, newsletters).
• Translate complex policy and workforce content into plain English for target audiences.
• Draft clear, accurate and consistent communication materials.
• Ensure content is accessible for diverse audiences including stakeholders and the public.
• Collaborate with other teams to align communications across sectors.
• Assist in development or commissioning multimedia content (videos, graphics).
• Follow work health, safety and wellbeing policies.
