Job summary

HumanAbility seeks a Communications Coordinator to support creation and delivery of communications about our work. You'll collaborate with the Senior Communications Advisor to plan, draft and produce clear, engaging content across internal and external channels, including our website, newsletters and social media.

The role involves liaising with contractors and travelling for workshops and events. A hybrid working model is supported with travel as required.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in communications, journalism or similar or demonstrated equivalent experience.
• Experience working in a Communications team, preferably within a not-for-profit or government sector.
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organisational and project management skills.
• Demonstrated proficiency in content management systems, social media platforms and Monday.com (or similar).
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Identify, plan and create content for HumanAbility’s communications channels, including social, digital and newsletters
• Translate complex technical, policy and workforce content into plain English that suits the target audience
• Draft communication materials with clarity, accuracy, and consistency
• Ensure all content is accessible and appropriate for diverse audiences, including industry stakeholders and the public
• Work closely with other teams as directed to align communications across our sectors
• Assist in the development or commissioning of multimedia content, including videos and graphics, as required
• Observe and follow work health, safety and wellbeing policies and guidelines
