Job summary

HumanAbility is seeking a skilled Communications Coordinator to support the creation and delivery of communications about our work. The role will involve planning, drafting and delivering clear and compelling content for websites, newsletters, events and social media.

You will work with the Senior Communications Advisor and wider team to ensure consistency across internal and external channels, liaising with contractors as needed. Occasional travel and a hybrid work model are part of the role.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in communications, journalism or similar or demonstrated equivalent experience.
• Experience working in a Communications team, preferably within a not-for-profit or government sector.
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organisational and project management skills.
• Demonstrated proficiency in content management systems, social media platforms and Monday.com (or similar).
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Identify, plan and create content for HumanAbility’s communications channels, including social, digital and newsletters.
• Translate complex technical, policy and workforce content into plain English that suits the target audience.
• Draft communication materials with clarity, accuracy, and consistency.
• Ensure all content is accessible and appropriate for diverse audiences, including industry stakeholders and the public.
• Work closely with other teams as directed to align communications across our sectors.
• Assist in the development or commissioning of multimedia content, including videos and graphics, as required.
• Observe and follow work health, safety and wellbeing policies and guidelines.
