Job summary

PCA Ground Engineering on the Gold Coast is seeking a Project Engineer ready to step up into full project management, delivering piling projects across Queensland and New South Wales. You’ll take responsibility from mobilisation through to close-out, managing programme, cost, and subcontractors.

You’ll also handle contract administration, RFIs, and reporting, while leading site teams and ensuring WHS, quality, and environmental compliance.

Qualifications

• Civil or Structural Engineering degree required.
• White Card (Construction Safety) required.
• Current driver’s licence and willingness to travel.
• Proven experience as Project Engineer in piling/ground engineering.

Responsibilities

• Oversee full project delivery from mobilisation to close-out, managing programme, cost, and subcontractors.
• Handle procurement, subcontractor engagement, and vendor negotiations.
• Manage contract administration, variations, EOT claims, and payment schedules.
• Liaise with clients and engineers; manage RFIs and project reporting.
• Ensure WHS, quality, and environmental compliance on-site.

Job description

You've earned your stripes as a Project Engineer. Now it's time to take full ownership, delivery, cost, client relationships, the lot.

PCA's Piling division delivers sheet piling, driven piles, CFA piles, and bored pile works across Queensland and New South Wales. We're looking for a Project Engineer ready to step up into full project management

The role

You’ll carry full project delivery responsibility from mobilisation through to close-out, managing programme, cost, and subcontractors across our piling works.

Contract administration sits with you too, variation management, EOT claims, and payment schedules, alongside interpreting and applying TMR MRTS and TfNSW B-spec requirements and managing compliance against project specifications.

You’ll oversee procurement, subcontractor engagement, material and plant sourcing, and vendor negotiation, and you’re the point of contact for client and engineer liaison, managing correspondence, RFIs, and project reporting.

On site, you’ll lead and supervise your teams, foremen, and crews, overseeing WHS, quality, and environmental compliance across your assigned projects, and reporting on project performance, cost-to-complete, and programme status back to divisional management.

Some of the must-haves

At PCA, travel is a must! We go where the work is and need you to have a current driver's licence, and willingness to travel across projects

Proven experience as a Project Engineer within piling or ground engineering, ready to take the next step into project management

Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering

White Card (Construction Industry General Safety Induction)

Sound working knowledge of AS 2159, TMR MRTS, and/or TfNSW specifications

Demonstrated experience in contract management, procurement, and subcontractor administration

Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to manage budgets, programmes, and client relationships

Proven leadership and team management skills
