Job summary

PCA Ground Engineering is seeking a Leading Hand to head on-site piling crews, ensuring safe, on-time delivery of bored and CFA piling projects. You will work with the Piling Supervisor to scale up operations as the division grows and take on broader responsibilities over time.

Ideal candidates bring hands-on leadership, strong piling experience, and a track record of coordinating field teams while maintaining high safety and quality standards. This is a full-time role with travel as required.

Qualifications

• Willingness to travel and stay away from home as required.
• White Card (Construction Induction)
• Full driver's licence
• Experience with piling rigs such as Soilmec or Casagrande
• Experience with concrete and grout pumps
• Timber/steel piling experience
• Mechanical aptitude
• Tickets: Excavator, EWP, Working at Heights (or HRW)

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the daily activities of piling crews on-site across Bored and CFA piling.
• Drive project delivery to meet safety, quality, and budget targets with WHS compliance.
• Mentor the team and foster a culture of respect and collaboration.
• Troubleshoot operational challenges with piling rigs and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Maintain accurate records across quality, environment, and safety reporting.
• Ensure a drug- and alcohol-free status on site.

Job description

Location: NSW Bella Vista / QLD Arundel. Must be willing to travel & work away from home

Employment: Permanent, Full-time

Pay:

Hourly rate covers the first 8 hours, with overtime applying from there; plus allowances (Living away from home

The Role:

PCA Ground Engineering is investing big in our Piling Division, and we want a skilled, driven Leading Hand to help us build something great. This is your chance to step into a hands-on leadership role at the heart of a team that takes real pride in piling excellence, with genuine pathways to grow your career as we expand.

As Leading Hand, you'll lead crews on-site, keep operations running smoothly, and play a direct role in delivering high-quality piling projects from start to finish. You'll work closely alongside our Piling Supervisor, with the backing and support to sharpen your skills and take on more responsibility as the division scales up.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate the daily activities of piling crews on-site, drawing on proven experience in Bored and CFA piling

Drive project delivery that hits safety, quality, and budget targets, backed by a genuine commitment to WHS compliance

Mentor the team and build a culture of respect and collaboration through strong leadership and clear communication

Troubleshoot operational challenges using a solid understanding of piling rigs and techniques, and confidence reading technical drawings and specifications

Keep accurate records across quality, environment, and safety reporting

Maintain a drug and alcohol-free status

Some must haves

Willingness to work away from home as required is essential

White Card (Construction Induction)

Full driver's licence

Operating Soilmec or Casagrande piling rigs

Experience with concrete and grout pumps

Driven timber and steel piling experience

Mechanical aptitude

Excavator, EWP, Working at Heights, or HRW tickets
