PCA Ground Engineering, a specialist ground engineering and civil contractor, seeks a Project Manager/Senior Project Engineer to lead civil construction and ground engineering projects across NSW and QLD. You will own projects from tender handover to completion, coordinating estimates, site teams, and QA compliance.

Ideal candidates have a strong civil or ground engineering background, with the commercial discipline to run profitable projects and willingness to travel across jurisdictions.

Responsibilities

Project Manager / Senior Project Engineer

PROJECT MANAGER / SENIOR PROJECT ENGINEER

The lead role: full accountability and ownership of civil construction and ground engineering projects, from tender handover through to completion.

NSW & QLD | Full-time | Salary negotiable based on experience + fully maintained company vehicle
Travel across NSW and QLD (and interstate when the job calls for it) is required

If you're an experienced Project Manager, or a Senior Project Engineer ready to step up into a lead role, PCA Ground Engineering is hiring, right now, across our NSW and QLD teams.

Our core work is civil, piling, ground anchors, earth retention, deep foundations and grouting, on projects across commercial, industrial and major infrastructure sectors including civil construction.

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Civil Construction Manager, you'll take full ownership of civil construction and ground engineering projects from tender handover through to completion. Working closely with our estimating, engineering and site teams, you'll manage programme, commercial performance, plant, subcontractors and QA compliance using CivilPro, to deliver projects safely, on time and within budget.

This is our lead role, taking full accountability and ownership of a project, also open to Project Engineers looking to move into a Senior Project Engineer position.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Leading project delivery from tender handover through to practical completion
• Producing and maintaining detailed, to completion look-ahead programmes, resourced with plant, personnel and materials
• Managing procurement, purchase orders and subcontracts in line with PCA procedure
• Certifying monthly progress claims and tracking commercial performance against budget
• Coordinating plant and asset allocation across live sites, liaising with the Maintenance Manager on servicing and permits
• Reviewing tender estimates and reflecting on deviations between construction and estimate during project close-out
• Maintaining ITPs, WMSs, hold points and NCR registers to contract and quality requirements, with QA compliance managed through CivilPro
• Identifying project risks early and implementing proactive risk management plans

SOME OF THE MUST-HAVES

We're looking for an experienced Project Manager or Senior Project Engineer ready to take on full project accountability, with a strong background delivering civil or ground engineering works and the commercial discipline to run a project profitably from handover to close-out.

• 10+ years' experience in project management within civil construction, ground engineering or a related field (or equivalent Project Engineer experience for those stepping up)
• Strong experience managing programme, budget and subcontractors on works including civil, piling, anchoring, retention, ground improvement, earthworks or structures
• Confident interpreting technical documentation including drawings, geotechnical reports, specifications and contract documentation
• Experience with CivilPro is a big plus; familiarity with Business Central and Assignar also highly regarded (training provided)
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with internal teams, subcontractors and clients
• Australian working rights and willingness to travel and work away from home across NSW and QLD
