Job summary

PCA Ground Engineering is seeking a site-based engineer to bridge design intent with field execution on active piling projects across QLD and NSW. You will work daily with foremen, rig crews, and subcontractors to keep progress on track.

You’ll manage QA/ITP, inspection records, and installation documentation, assist with method statements, and apply AS 2159 and project specs. Travel across regions is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience in piling works (sheet piling, driven piles, CFA, or bored piles).
• Current driver's licence and willingness to travel across projects.
• Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering, or working towards one.
• Working knowledge of AS 2159 and WHS obligations on construction sites.
• Exposure to TMR MRTS and TfNSW specifications and compliance requirements.
• Strong understanding of contract management and procurement practices on civil projects.

Responsibilities

Job description

Three years in piling means you've already got the fundamentals down. We're ready to put them to work across some of our most technically varied piling projects.

We're growing fast, and we need a site-based engineer who can bridge the gap between design intent and what actually happens on the rig.

The role

You’ll be embedded across our active piling projects in both QLD & NSW, working day to day with site foremen, rig crews, and subcontractors to keep things moving.

Quality assurance and ITP management sit squarely in your lane, along with inspection records and installation documentation. You’ll assist with method statements and SWMS, applying AS 2159 and project specifications, and interpret and apply TMR MRTS and TfNSW B-spec requirements on the contracts that call for it.

On the commercial side, you’ll support contract administration, identifying variations, raising RFIs, and handling correspondence, and assist with procurement of materials, plant, and subcontractors for site works. You’ll be the point of contact liaising with engineers, surveyors, and clients on site queries and technical matters, and support programme and progress reporting back to the project team.

Some of the must‑haves

At PCA, travel is a must! We go where the work is and need you to have a current driver's licence, AND willingness to travel across projects
