Walz Group seeks a Project Engineer/Site Engineer to provide engineering and technical support across the full project lifecycle on-site in the Mackay region. You will work with Project Managers, site teams, clients and subcontractors to ensure on-time, within-budget delivery.

The role emphasizes planning, risk management, and quality assurance, with exposure to technical, commercial and operational aspects of project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience as Project Engineer, Site Engineer or similar role is highly regarded.
• Experience in construction, resources, mining or heavy industrial sectors desirable.
• Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Willingness to spend significant time on site and travel within Bowen Basin.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering and technical support throughout planning, mobilisation, execution and close-out of projects.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, site teams, clients and subcontractors for successful delivery.
• Assist with planning, scheduling, cost control, forecasting and progress reporting.
• Provide technical advice to project and tender teams.
• Assist with management of project scope, variations and contractual requirements.
• Monitor project performance and help resolve technical, schedule and commercial issues.
• Support quality assurance activities, including documentation, inspections, ITPs and handovers.
• Prepare/review drawings, technical documentation, and project deliverables.
• Participate in risk assessments, toolbox and safety meetings, and site interactions.
• Assist with procurement, subcontractor coordination and resources management.

About you

An interest in developing across the technical, commercial and project management aspects of project delivery.

Quality assurance and/or project controls experience is desirable, but not essential.

Knowledge of relevant mining and workplace health and safety requirements is desirable.

A practical, delivery-focused approach and willingness to spend significant time on site.

Flexibility to travel throughout the Bowen Basin and work varied rosters where project requirements dictate.
