Job summary

Zenith Executive Search is seeking an experienced Site-Based Project Engineer for a major civil infrastructure project on a Queensland mine site. You will work closely with the Project Manager and site team to deliver civil works safely, on time and within budget on a FIFO basis.

You will coordinate daily site activities, manage subcontractors, and lead project resources while maintaining quality and safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Project Engineer delivering civil infrastructure projects.
• Experience on mine sites or heavy civil projects in the resources sector.
• Strong knowledge of earthworks, drainage, concrete, roadworks and civil infrastructure construction.
• Civil Engineering degree or equivalent qualification.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate daily site activities, subcontractors and project resources.
• Oversee project planning, programming, cost control and procurement.
• Ensure compliance with quality, safety and environmental requirements.
• Prepare and manage project documentation including RFIs, ITPs, SWMS, progress claims and reporting.
• Liaise with clients, consultants and key stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
• Mentor Site Engineers and contribute to the ongoing development of the project team.

The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Project Engineer to join a major civil infrastructure project on a Queensland mine site. Working closely with the Project Manager and site team, you'll play a key role in the successful delivery of a diverse range of civil works while ensuring projects are completed safely, on time and within budget.

Key responsibilities:

• Manage and coordinate daily site activities, subcontractors and project resources.


• Oversee project planning, programming, cost control and procurement.


• Ensure compliance with quality, safety and environmental requirements.


• Prepare and manage project documentation including RFIs, ITPs, SWMS, progress claims and reporting.

What We're Looking For

To succeed in this role, you will ideally have:

• Previous experience as a Project Engineer delivering civil infrastructure projects.


• Experience working on mine site or heavy civil projects, ideally within the resources sector.


• Strong knowledge of earthworks, drainage, concrete, roadworks and civil infrastructure construction.


• A Civil Engineering degree or equivalent qualification.


• Strong commercial awareness with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.


• The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced site environment and lead project delivery teams.
