Job summary

Verra Recruitment is seeking a Project Engineer or experienced Site Engineer for a long-term role with a civil contractor in the Mackay region. The initial project is a large residential development south of Mackay, with ongoing opportunities across the area.

You will work closely with the Project Manager and Supervisors to keep delivery moving in your own areas of responsibility, coordinating day-to-day works, subcontractors, procurement, RFIs, and QA documentation.

Qualifications

• Civil Engineering degree with solid civil construction experience.
• Experience delivering subdivisions, land development or urban civil projects.
• 3+ years' experience across earthworks, roads, drainage, utilities or general civil construction.
• Good understanding of programme, cost and commercial delivery.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to deal confidently with clients, consultants, subcontractors and site crews.
• Australian work rights and current driver's licence.

Responsibilities

• Planning and coordinating day to day works with the PM and site team.
• Running your own sections of the project with a good level of autonomy.
• Coordinating subcontractors and monitoring delivery, quality and programme.
• Supporting procurement, purchase orders, variations, claims and forecasting.
• Managing RFIs, QA documentation and engineering requirements.
• Monitoring costs and identifying delivery issues before they become problems.

We're working with a well established civil contractor delivering a range of urban and residential civil projects across the Mackay region.

They're looking for a Project Engineer or experienced Site Engineer who understands how subdivisions and urban civil projects are actually delivered and wants a long term opportunity in the region.

The immediate project is a large residential development approximately 30 minutes south of Mackay, with further work across the region providing plenty of opportunity beyond the initial project.

The Role This is a hands on engineering position working closely with the Project Manager and Supervisors to keep delivery moving across your own areas of responsibility.

You'll be involved in:

• Planning and coordinating day to day works with the PM and site team
• Running your own sections of the project with a good level of autonomy
• Coordinating subcontractors and monitoring delivery, quality and programme
• Supporting procurement, purchase orders, variations, claims and forecasting
• Managing RFIs, QA documentation and engineering requirements

The projects cover a broad range of urban civil works including residential subdivisions, earthworks, roads, drainage, sewer and water reticulation, pavements, kerb and channel, concrete and associated civil infrastructure.

What You Bring
