Job summary

Canva is seeking a Principal-level engineer to own Canva's hybrid mobile platform, uniting React Native, iOS and Android with shared libraries and native capabilities. You’ll drive architectural decisions, ship foundational code, and ensure performance and reliability at scale.

In this role you’ll lead senior engineers, shape platform standards, and enable product teams to adopt the new platform across Canva globally.

Qualifications

• Experience leading large-scale cross-platform mobile architectures.
• Led migration of mature mobile product onto new architecture.
• Proven track record of technical leadership across multiple teams.

Responsibilities

• Set the technical direction across React Native, iOS and Android.
• Turn architecture into shipped code with performance/reliability foundations.
• Deliver a React Native surface in production within six months.
• Act as architectural anchor for Staff and Senior engineers.
• Scale adoption across Canva with platform-wide patterns.
