Job summary

Canva’s Mobile Platform team is evolving its hybrid architecture across React Native, iOS, and Android to ship a native-feeling, cross-platform experience for hundreds of millions of users. You will set technical direction, drive production-grade platforms, and mentor senior engineers while expanding adoption across Canva’s product teams.

You’ll join Canva’s Client Platform as part of a mission to deliver fast, reliable mobile experiences at scale, shaping the next decade of Canva on mobile

Qualifications

• Built or evolved a large-scale cross-platform mobile architecture in production.
• Led a significant migration of a mature mobile product onto a new architecture while live.
• Set technical direction across multiple teams with senior engineers.
• Shaped architecture adopted across multiple groups in a large org.
• Maintained hands-on coding for deep implementation details.
• Reasoned from first principles to ensure scale.

Responsibilities

• Set the technical direction: own architectural decisions for Canva’s hybrid mobile platform across React Native, iOS and Android.
• Get the new platform into production: deliver shipped code with foundations for performance, reliability and observability.
• Prove it on a real product surface: have a React Native surface live in production with stable capabilities.
• Lead senior engineers through migration: anchor architecture for Staff and Senior engineers.
• Scale adoption across Canva: drive platform adoption with product teams and establish trusted patterns.
