Job summary

Canva’s Mobile Platform team is seeking a React Native expert to shape the future of our cross‑platform app. You’ll help evolve a shared codebase across iOS, Android and web, while preserving native performance for video, rendering and streaming.

In this role you’ll guide other engineers moving from web to React Native, deciding when to drop into native implementations, and prioritising platform tooling, performance work and the wider React Native fluency of the team.

Qualifications

• Experience with React Native at real scale in a large company.
• Proven ability to diagnose and fix React Native performance issues.
• Strong technical leadership and ability to justify trade-offs.
• Cross-team influence through documentation or collaboration.
• Hands-on coding with recent commits and reviews.
• Experience using AI tooling in real engineering work.

Responsibilities

• Lead React Native across iOS/Android/web with a unified codebase.
• Identify and optimize performance bottlenecks and rendering paths.
• Collaborate on platform tooling and boost the team’s React Native fluency.
• Contribute design docs and guidance for React Native adoption across projects.
