Job summary

CommBank seeks a Principal Software Engineer to lead the CRM and Banker Experience Platform strategy across AI-enabled channels. You will influence architecture, cloud integration and platform investments, working on AI-assisted customer experiences and enterprise-scale solutions.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with product and risk teams, and ensure security, privacy and resilience are embedded in platform design and delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience operating as a Principal Engineer or senior technical leader in complex enterprise environments.
• Track record delivering large-scale distributed systems and platform capabilities.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders across engineering, product, architecture, risk and business teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, evolution and delivery of scalable, resilient platforms for customer and banker experiences.
• Drive architecture and engineering decisions across squads and tech domains.
• Establish reusable patterns, frameworks and standards to improve delivery speed and quality.
• Shape platform strategy across cloud, APIs, customer engagement services, workflow orchestration and AI-enabled capabilities.
• Champion DevSecOps, observability, CI/CD and automated testing.
