Job summary

St Paul’s Primary School, Gateshead, a Catholic systemic school, seeks a Learning Support Teacher (K-6) for 0.4FTE permanent part-time with a 12-month temporary 0.2FTE extension from January 2027. You will work to ensure every child grows academically and spiritually, supporting inclusive learning environments and collaboration with staff, families and external providers.

Qualifications

• Four-year trained teacher with postgraduate special education qualifications.
• Active NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) required.
• NESA Accreditation and mandatory safety trainings (anaphylaxis, CPR).
• Experience with students with disability (K-6) and inclusive education.
• Ability to collaborate with CSO staff, parents and external providers.
• Experience delivering professional learning for staff and parents.
• Experience in preparing Personalised Plans and Learner Profiles.

Responsibilities

• Identify students with special educational needs and coordinate assessment procedures.
• Deliver intervention, teach students, and support curriculum differentiation.
• Collaborate with teachers to implement Accessible Plans and LPs.
• Work with Learning Support personnel and contribute to staff development.
• Assist with documentation for privacy, confidentiality and disability obligations.
• Support transitions and enrolment processes for students with disability.
