Job summary

Holy Family Primary School, Merewether Beach in Newcastle seeks a permanent part-time Learning Support Teacher (K-6) to start January 2027. The role focuses on academic and spiritual growth for students with disabilities within a Catholic education framework and collaboration with school staff and external partners.

The successful candidate will identify learning needs, deliver targeted interventions, prepare Personalised Plans and Learner Profiles, and support inclusive learning environments

Qualifications

• Four-year trained teacher with postgraduate in Special Education.

Responsibilities

• Identify students with special educational needs and coordinate referrals and assessments.
• Deliver targeted intervention and support curriculum differentiation.
• Collaborate to design and monitor adjustments within Personalised Plans and Learner Profiles.
• Work with Learning Support staff and contribute to staff development and parent education.
• Liaise on transitions and enrolment; document compliance for NCCD and privacy.
