Job summary

Newcastle Grammar School invites applications for a Learning Support Teacher (0.8 FTE / 4 days per week). The role collaborates with teachers, students and families to plan and deliver effective learning support strategies within our inclusive secondary program.

The successful candidate will contribute to personalised learning plans, develop IEPs, differentiate curriculum, monitor progress and support student wellbeing in Years 7–12.

Qualifications

• Formal teaching qualifications required.
• Postgraduate qualifications in Special Education or Inclusive Education preferred.
• Current NESA registration required.

Responsibilities

• Provide targeted support for students with diverse learning needs across Years 7-12.
• Develop, implement, and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to differentiate curriculum and assessment.
• Monitor student progress and maintain records.
• Work with families and wellbeing staff to support student outcomes.
• Identify students requiring additional support and intervention.
• Support teachers with inclusive education practices.
• Contribute to transition planning and student case management meetings.
• Promote an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
