Job description

We’re looking for an experienced Practice Manager who is proactive, commercially aware and ready to lead the day-to-day operations of our established General Practice.

Strong operational and people-management skills are essential, but we also believe workplace culture matters. We are proud of our supportive environment, where hard work, mutual respect, teamwork and a good sense of humour go hand in hand.

We value trust, practical problem-solving, open communication and a positive, can-do attitude.

Could this be you?

We are seeking a knowledgeable and hands‑on Practice Manager to lead our reception and nursing teams, support our GPs and oversee the efficient, compliant and sustainable operation of the practice.

What We Offer
  • A supportive transition and handover from our current Practice Manager, who is actively involved in recruiting her successor
  • A well-established, private billing practice
  • A close-knit and experienced team
  • A workplace focused on quality care rather than high-volume medicine
  • The opportunity to lead meaningful operational and quality improvements
  • A varied, autonomous role with genuine scope to influence the practice
  • Supportive GPs and staff who value collaboration and continuity of care
About Us

Arana Hills Medical Centre is a long-standing private billing general practice in Brisbane’s north-west.

Our practice is committed to providing high-quality, patient-centred healthcare through longer appointments, continuity of care and meaningful patient relationships. Our GPs have a diverse range of clinical interests, and we maintain a strong focus on education, mentoring and professional development.

For more than 40 years, we have welcomed medical students and GP registrars into our practice. We are supported by an experienced team of receptionists and nurses who work collaboratively to provide a positive experience for patients and practitioners.

This vacancy has arisen as our current Practice Manager moves on to a new career opportunity. She remains genuinely invested in the clinic’s future and is actively involved in recruiting her successor, with a strong commitment to supporting a positive transition and preserving the values, culture and legacy that make Arana Hills Medical Centre such a special place to work.

About You

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Practice Manager who enjoys combining people leadership, compliance, business administration and hands‑on operational problem-solving.

You will be confident supporting GPs and staff, managing change and translating complex regulatory or program requirements into clear, workable processes.

You will also understand that practice management can involve everything from workforce planning and accreditation preparation to resolving a technology issue, coordinating a repair or stepping in wherever needed to keep the clinic running smoothly.
