YMCA Victoria is hiring Lifeguards for four Council-owned pools across Mount Alexander Shire, including Castlemaine. The role focuses on delivering a safe swimming environment and educating users on safe aquatic practices.

Casual positions offer an hourly rate up to $34.96 plus super, with flexible rostering and access to YMCA facilities. Ideal candidates are vigilant, patient and capable of handling busy, repetitive environments.

Formación

• Aquatic Pool Lifeguard Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
• HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.
• HLTAID011 Provide First Aid.

Responsabilidades

• Supervising a large aquatic space while pro-actively ensuring a safe environment in and around the pool area.
• Maintaining concentrated observation of pools and patrons to anticipate and respond to problems.
• Ensuring facility rules are being obeyed whilst educating facility users about safe aquatic practices.
• Carrying out intervention and preventative action to ensure safety and wellbeing of patrons.

About The Pools

There are four Council-owned outdoor swimming pools in Mount Alexander Shire, located in Castlemaine, Harcourt, Maldon and Newstead. We are looking for pool lifeguards across all these four sites!

About The Role

As a Lifeguard, you’ll help provide a safe swimming environment for all centre visitors. You’ll be patient, focused and friendly to keep pool-users informed and safe.

• Supervising a large aquatic space while pro-actively ensuring a safe environment in and around the pool area
• Maintaining concentrated observation of pools and patrons to anticipate and respond to problems
• Ensuring facility rules are being obeyed whilst at the same time educating facility users about safe aquatic practices
• Carrying out intervention and preventative action to ensure the safety and wellbeing of patrons, the facility and equipment

This is a casual position with an hourly rate up to $34.96 + Super.

About You

We are seeking motivated, organised and pro-active Lifeguards to come and join the team. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, a positive attitude and a commitment to the safety and wellbeing of children, young people and all facility users.

• Ability to make decisions while under pressure
• Being able to manage conflicts with patrons and users
• Ability to stay alert and vigilant in a repetitive work environment
• Ability to multitask
• Providing excellent customer service for all members and guests
• Experience in the Aquatics and Leisure industry will be highly regarded

Essential Qualifications

• Aquatic Pool Lifeguard Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
• HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
• HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
