Job summary

The Toowoomba Regional Council is seeking a skilled operator to safely run and maintain plant for construction and maintenance projects in the Toowoomba Region. You will join the sealed maintenance team to repair potholes and road defects while adhering to safety standards.

The role offers permanent full-time employment at Charlton Depot with a 9-day fortnight, standard hours 6:30 am–3:30 pm, and competitive benefits including annual leave loading and superannuation.

Qualifications

• Must have numeracy and good written and verbal communication.
• Teamwork and safe work practices required.
• Experience operating plant, including skid steer loaders.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain plant to support construction/maintenance projects.
• Repair potholes, ruts, cracks and edge breaks in sealed pavement.
• Ensure safety and compliance on site.

About the position

What you'll need

• Current WHSCertificate of Competency or VOC for 'LS' - Skid Steer Loader(>2L engine capacity) or current RII Competency orequivalent.
• WHSCompetency (White Card) for CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safelyin the construction industry, or equivalent, or a willingnessto obtain prior to commencement.
• Substantial experiencein operating related Plant, including operating a skid steerloader.
• Numeracy, written,communication and teamwork skills.
