Job summary

Toowoomba Regional Council is seeking two Labourers to join the Reactive Maintenance and Programmed Water Maintenance team in Toowoomba, Queensland. You will assist with sewer maintenance and gain hands-on experience with plant, tools and equipment; no experience required as on-the-job training is provided.

Eligible candidates will have a current C class driver’s licence, and MR licence if already held; White Card CPCWHS1001 or willingness to obtain.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current C class driver's licence.
• MR class licence or must obtain within 6 months of commencement.
• White Card CPCWHS1001 or willingness to obtain prior to starting.

Responsibilities

• Assist with sewer maintenance tasks within the water network.
• Gain hands-on experience with plant, tools and equipment.

Toowoomba Regional Council is seeking two (2) dedicated and motivated Labourer to join our Reactive Maintenance and Programmed Water Maintenance team. In this role, you'll assist with a variety of tasks related to sewer maintenance and gain hands‑on experience with plant, tools, and equipment. No prior experience? No problem! We offer on‑the‑job training to help you succeed.

What We’re Looking For:

• Minimum Driver’s Licence: Current 'C' Driver's Licence
• Driver’s Licence: Current ‘MR’ Class Driver’s Licence or if not held, must be obtained within 6 months of commencement.
• WHS Competency: Hold a White Card (CPCWHS1001) for working safely in the construction industry or be willing to obtain one prior to starting.
• Experience: Labourer experience within the water industry is desirable but not required—on‑the‑job training will be provided.

What We Offer:

• Permanent Full-Time: Based at the Charlton Depot.
• Work Hours: Regular hours from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, with a 9-day fortnight (one rostered day off every two weeks).
• Competitive Salary: Fortnightly base rate of $2,520.64 gross, plus 17.5% annual leave loading and up to 12.65% superannuation.
• Additional Benefits: Variable allowances, on‑call, overtime and penalty rates, wet weather allowance, and live sewer allowance.
