Job summary

TechSpace is expanding in Rockhampton and seeks an experienced Repair Technician to join the team at Stockland Rockhampton. This hands-on role focuses on diagnosing and repairing phones, tablets and laptops for walk-in customers with a well-equipped bench and strong support.

You will diagnose issues, quote customers accurately, and ensure thorough testing before handing devices back. Based in Rockhampton, you’ll manage your own queue in a fast-paced repair environment.

Job description

TechSpace is a Queensland phone and device repair business with stores at Robina Town Centre and Stockland Burleigh Heads, and we're opening our newest store at Stockland Rockhampton. We're looking for an experienced Repair Technician to join our Rockhampton team.

This is a hands‑on bench role. You'll spend your day diagnosing and repairing phones, tablets and laptops for walk‑in customers, with the tools, parts and support to do the job properly.

What you'll be doing

Diagnose and repair iPhone, Samsung and other Android phones – screens, batteries, charging ports, cameras, back glass

Repair iPads, tablets, MacBooks and Windows laptops

Software troubleshooting, data transfers and device setup

Quote customers accurately and explain the fix in plain language

Test every device thoroughly before it goes back to the customer

Keep the bench, tools and parts organised and log jobs in our repair system

What we're looking for

Minimum 1 year of hands‑on experience repairing mobile phones (more is welcome)

Confident with iPhone and Samsung screen and battery replacements

Strong troubleshooting skills – you work out what's actually wrong, not just swap parts

Good with customers: clear, patient and honest about what can and can't be fixed

Reliable and organised, comfortable managing your own queue of jobs

Based in or near Rockhampton, working from our Stockland Rockhampton store

Nice to have (not essential)

Micro-soldering or board‑level repair

MacBook and laptop repair experience

Experience with RepairDesk or a similar repair‑shop POS
