Job summary

Australian Unity is seeking caring individuals to join our home-care team in Broken Hill. The role involves assisting elderly clients (65+) with domestic tasks and, for some, personal care, in clients’ homes. Travel for training is required, and weekends may apply for experienced carers.

This is not a facility-based vacancy. We offer casual contracts with hourly pay, travel time, and mileage allowance. Applicants must have a valid Australian driver’s licence and own car, with a commitment to a

Do you meet these minimum requirements?

• Live in or near Broken Hill NSW
• Hold a current Australian Drivers' Licence with your own car (sorry, we cannot accept International license's or shared/rental vehicles)
• Available to work a minimum of 6 hours a day between 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday (some weekend rosters available for experienced carers)
• Commitment to our paid 2-week Brilliant @ Basics Training when you start! (Get ready to learn, grow & be supported!) Travel is required for training.

What this role offers:

• Casual Contracts
• Hourly Rate: $32.561 - $36.59 p/h - depending on experience + 12% super + $0.92/km allowance + paid travel time

What You'll Be Doing:

• Entry-Level Carers: Provide domestic assistance, such as cleaning, vacuuming, laundry, and meal preparation.
• Experienced Carers: Provide personal care services including showering, toileting, assistance with medications, as well as domestic duties & social supports such as assisting with transportation for clients.
• Most importantly: be a friendly face & brighten someone's day!

Domestic assistance will form a significant part of your role - this applies to both our entry-level and experienced carers.
