Job summary

Calvary St Catherine's Retirement Community in Berri, SA, is seeking a Casual Personal Care Worker to deliver essential resident-focused care within an aged care team. This role involves daily hygiene tasks, observation and reporting, and maintaining dignity and privacy for residents.

You will assist mobility per care plans and support residents to remain as independent as possible, while upholding compassionate, person-centred care in a mission-based organisation.

Qualifications

• Certificate III Aged Care or Individual Support is essential.
• Effective interpersonal communication; both written and verbal.
• Working knowledge of WHS and Infection Control.

Responsibilities

• Deliver personal care tasks including daily hygiene (showering, shaving, dressing, basic mouth/eye care).
• Observe residents and report changes to nursing staff and document actions.
• Respect privacy, dignity and confidentiality during services.
• Assist mobility per care plan; encourage continued independence.
• Support residents with day-to-day decisions and routines.

About The Role

This is a rewarding, hands on role that will give you the opportunity to positively impact on the lives of our residents. Care Service Employees work within the aged care team to promote the delivery of quality care to residents and their families, demonstrating competence in the provision of resident-centred care.

Key Responsibilities

• Work within an established and agreed framework to deliver a range of personal care tasks, including, but not limited to daily hygiene, for example: showering; shaving; dressing; mouth and eye care
• Observe the condition of residents and report any changes to the Enrolled Nurse or Registered Nurse, Facility Manager or appropriate person as well as completing the required documentation
• Respect each person's privacy, dignity and confidentiality when providing services for residents
• Assist residents who require assistance with mobility as per care plan. Residents are to be encouraged to remain ambulatory and independent
• Respect each resident and ensure that they are treated with dignity and given opportunities for making decisions particularly concerning their day to day routine
