Job summary

Calvary Aged Care in Springvale, VIC, is seeking a dedicated Personal Care Worker to support residents and contribute to their daily well-being. This permanent part-time role offers flexible hours in a supportive team and opportunities for professional development.

You will assist with personal care, mobility, and activities aligned to care plans, while upholding WHS standards and compassionate care across our community.

Qualifications

• Experience in aged care or health care preferred.
• NDIS clearance or willingness to obtain one.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to prioritise workloads in a busy care environment.

Responsibilities

• Support residents to live the life they choose, promoting independence.
• Assist residents in one-on-one activities aligned to care plans and well-being.
• Contribute to physical, emotional and lifestyle needs via assessment and observation.
• Deliver personal care tasks within an established framework (hygiene, grooming, mouth/eye care, continence).
• Assist residents with mobility as per care plan.

Your main duties will include:

• Support residents to live the life they choose allowing them to exercise choice and independence
• Assist the resident in one-on-one activities that support their well-being inclusive of hobbies and interests that are aligned to the care plan
• Contributes to the physical, emotional and lifestyle needs and wants of the residents, through assessment and observation
• Works within an established and agreed framework to deliver a range of personal care tasks, including but not limited to daily hygiene for example showering, shaving, dressing, mouth and eye care and continence management
• Assist residents who require assistance with mobility as per care plan

About you

• Certificate Level III (Individual Support)
• NDIS clearance check or willing to obtain one
• Effective interpersonal communication; both written and verbal
• Demonstrated ability to prioritise workloads
• Working knowledge of WH&S and Infection Control
• Demonstrated experience in a similar role in aged care, or health care
