Job summary

Ampol is seeking a Systems Analyst specializing in in-store and OPT payment platforms to own end-to-end delivery and operational support. You will work across payment gateways, POS integrations and related systems to ensure secure, reliable transactions in Ampol's retail network.

This role requires hands-on analysis, testing, deployment and collaboration with vendors and internal teams. A hybrid work model in Sydney is supported, with opportunities to drive improvements in payments processing

Qualifications

• Experience supporting payment systems in retail environments.
• Knowledge of payment transaction flows, EFTPOS and card payments, and settlements.
• Understanding of payment security controls, encryption technologies, and standards like PCI DSS.
• Experience performing system configuration, testing, certification, defect analysis and production support.
• Proficient in Jira backlog management, user-story creation, defects, workflows and agile delivery.

Responsibilities

• Act as the technical SME for Ampol's payment ecosystem, including OPT, payment terminals, gateways, POS integrations and downstream systems.
• Perform hands-on system analysis, configuration, testing, certification, troubleshooting and deployment across payment platforms.
• Investigate and resolve complex payment, transaction, integration and production support issues; act as escalation point for incidents.
• Support project and enhancement delivery through requirements analysis, solution validation, testing, pilots, store implementations and production releases.
• Build and maintain relationships with vendors, operational teams and tech stakeholders to ensure service delivery.
• Administer Jira backlogs, user stories, defects and workflows while identifying opportunities for automation and continuous improvement.
