Job summary

Ampol Limited is seeking a Systems Analyst to safeguard and advance core retail payment applications, focusing on In-store and Outdoor Payment Terminal platforms, payment processing, and related integrations.

You will own requirements analysis, testing, deployment, and continuous improvement of payment technologies across Ampol's retail network, while coordinating with vendors and ops teams to ensure secure, reliable outcomes.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience supporting payment systems in retail environments.
• Knowledge of EFTPOS, card payments, and acquirer integrations.
• Understanding of PCI DSS and payment security controls.

Responsibilities

• Act as technical SME for payment ecosystem including OPT and POS integrations.

About the role:

The Systems Analyst is critical to the effective operation of core retail applications, with a specialised focus on In-store and Outdoor Payment Terminal (OPT) platforms, payment processing services, and associated integrations. The role combines deep subject matter expertise with end-to-end ownership, encompassing support for roadmap planning, vendor management, solution design, project delivery, operational support, and continuous improvement of payment technologies across Ampol's retail network. The role serves as the technology SME for payment solutions, ensuring secure, reliable, and commercially aligned outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the technical SME for Ampol's payment ecosystem, including Outdoor Payment Terminals (OPT), payment terminals, payment gateways, POS integrations, and related downstream systems.
• Perform hands-on system analysis, configuration, testing, certification, troubleshooting, and deployment activities across payment platforms.
• Investigate and resolve complex payment, transaction, integration, and production support issues, acting as the key escalation point for technical incidents and defects.
• Support project and enhancement delivery through requirements analysis, solution validation, test planning, pilot execution, store implementations, and production releases.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with vendors, operational teams, and technology stakeholders to support service delivery, issue resolution, and successful project outcomes.
• Administer and maintain Jira backlogs, user stories, defects, workflows, technical documentation, and support artefacts while identifying opportunities for automation, simplification, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Experience

• Proven hands-on experience supporting payment systems in retail environments, including Outdoor Payment Terminals (OPT), payment terminal estates, POS systems, and payment processing platforms.
• Strong understanding of payment transaction flows, EFTPOS and scheme card payments, acquirer integrations, payment gateways, settlement processes, and associated troubleshooting techniques.
• In-depth knowledge of AS2805 standards, PCI DSS requirements, payment security controls, encryption technologies, and industry best practices.
• Demonstrated experience performing system configuration, testing, certification, defect analysis, production support, pilot implementations, and solution validation activities.
• Strong working knowledge of Jira, including backlog management, user story creation, defect tracking, workflow administration, sprint support, reporting, and Agile delivery practices.
• Self-motivated and able to effectively manage multiple competing priorities across operational support and delivery activities
• Willing to be hands-on with config and testing in lab, supporting pilot store site visits, field testing, solution validation, troubleshooting, deployment support, and engagement with operational teams during implementations
