Job summary

Kingside in Melbourne, Australia is seeking a Payments Analyst who will report to the Payment Operations Lead and partner with Product, Engineering, Risk, Compliance and Customer Support. You’ll analyze transaction data to diagnose issues and drive improvements in approval rates and processing costs.

The role suits someone with 3–5 years in payments or fintech, comfortable with PSP performance metrics, payment flows, and cross-functional collaboration to turn insights into action.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in payments, fintech, iGaming or global e-commerce.
• Solid understanding of payment flows, APIs, PSPs, acquirers and payment orchestration across card, bank transfer and local payment methods.
• Fraud awareness: knowledge of payment fraud typologies (chargebacks, account takeover, mule activity) and rule/threshold tuning.
• Mindset: high agency and a solution-first attitude with sound judgement under time pressure.
• Collaboration: proven ability to work cross-functionally with external PSP technical contacts.

Responsibilities

• PSP & Orchestrator Integration: Support the technical and operational integration of new PSPs, from requirements gathering and rules configuration through UAT and go-live.
• Performance Monitoring & Alerting: Build and maintain dashboards and automated alerts for approval rates, latency, uptime and settlement times.
• Deep-Dive Analysis & Escalations: Investigate drops in approval rates, error codes and routing issues, tracing them through the orchestrator, PSP, acquirer and banking rails to find root causes.
• Provider Relations: Act as Kingside’s technical contact for PSPs and payment partners to resolve integration and performance issues.
• Conversion, Cost & Process Optimisation: Evaluate deposits and withdrawals by PSP; review routing logic to lift approval rates and reduce costs.
• Fraud Prevention: Identify unusual or potentially fraudulent payment patterns and calibrate fraud rules and thresholds.
• Reporting & Documentation: Produce payment performance reporting and PSP scorecards for leadership; maintain clear documentation of integrations and playbooks.
