Job summary

Raymond Medical in Newcastle is seeking a warm and organised Patient Care Coordinator to join a boutique plastic surgery practice. You will support patients from initial enquiry through surgery and follow-up, manage communications, bookings and billing, and coordinate Medicare/private fund claims.

The role combines patient-facing duties with surgical administration and billing oversight, contributing to smooth operations and a positive patient experience within a close-knit team.

Qualifications

• Experience in medical administration, healthcare, hospital environments, Medicare/private health fund billing or patient coordination.
• Strong organisational and communication skills with attention to detail.
• Comfortable discussing fees and administrative processes with patients.

Responsibilities

• Providing a welcoming and supportive experience for patients from enquiry through to surgery and follow-up.
• Managing patient communication, appointments and administrative follow-up.
• Preparing patient quotes and assisting with payment and billing enquiries.
• Processing Medicare and private health fund claims and following up outstanding matters.
• Liaising with hospitals, health funds and other healthcare providers regarding patient care and funding requirements.
• Assisting with front desk duties, incoming calls and referral processing.
• Maintaining accurate patient and billing records.
• Supporting the clinical team with general administration and ensuring smooth practice operations.
